The roof on my house in Hanford was nearing the end of its life. Even though it looked okay and I had no issues, my homeowners insurance notified me they would not renew. So I have been searching for a roofing company. I did my due diligence, getting quotes from three or four contractors.
For myself, getting quotes was a good indicator how they might perform the job. Several were very slow responding, one was rude and grumpy. Then one promised to show up three times and never did, nor returned phone calls!
My sister referred me to Visalia Roofing & Construction. I called the owner, Steve Williamson, and he had an estimator walking the roof the very next day. Plus, Steve emailed the estimate that same day. As an aside, one roofing contractor would not come out … he used Google Earth to look at my house and create the estimate.
Visalia Roofing & Construction came in with a fair and honest estimate. It wasn’t the lowest, but it was definitely quite detailed and a very fair price. After I approved the quote, they started the job one week later. The job took only four days. I have a property manager, and he oversaw the process. He praised that everyone was so professional, welcoming him to observe, and explaining areas where some plywood needed replacement.
You can really tell when someone takes pride in their business to do things right. Steve Williamson at Visalia Roofing & Construction did exactly what they put in the estimate. Their work was impeccable. In fact when they finished each day, before they left, they cleared out scraps that fell — even pulling out some that fell into the bushes — and used a blower on the walkway.
